Neighborhood Trees Summary

There were 322 tress surveyed in the 3 project sites: 50 in Hunts Point in the Bronx, 60 in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, and 212 in New Brighton on Staten Island. Of these trees, 34 were in excellent condition, 254 in good condition, 31 in poor condition, and 3 were dead. The oldest tree was a Common Horsechestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) located on Staten Island at 320 years old. The most valuable tree surveyed was a Tuliptree (Liriodendron tulipifera) valued at $23,069.

There were 73 London Plane (Platanus x acerifolia), 45 Honeylocust (Gleditsia triacanthos), and 36 Norway Maple (Acer platanoides) trees surveyed. This table summarizes all of the variables calculated by tree species.
