NEW YORKERS FOR PARKS (NY4P) is a coalition of civic, greening, recreation and economic development organizations. It is the successor of the PARKS COUNCIL and its campaign, PARKS 2001.

New Yorkers for Parks advocates for quality parks and recreation services; promotes the importance of parks as a vital public service essential to rebuilding and strengthening the city; serves as an independent watchdog for the people of New York and their parks; works to provide equitable and efficient park services for all communities; and creates public discussion regarding best practices for funding, managing and designing parks and recreation programs and services.

The NY4P City Council District Profiles - Your Parks, Your Playgrounds depict the parks, playgrounds and open spaces in New York City's neighborhoods through pictures, maps, statistics and graphs illustrating the importance of parks and the need for increased maintenance, particularly in neighborhoods that do not attract private funding.

The District Profiles provide advocates with essential background information to help state their case in gaining support for their neighborhood parks, playgrounds, gardens and recreation centers.
